Not much has changed in the injury world since last week’s update. Most of those who were injured a week ago are now back in the squad and I’m very grateful for that.
Milan Lucic, who missed two games because of an injury injury, returned to the firing squad at all cylinders. His return was against the New Jersey Devils, where he opened the game with an incredible fight against the Demons, Kurtis Gabriel. Anything that made him sick before is clearly no more.
Oscar Klefbom, who tit-for-tat with his Swedish meatballs against Rangers last week, is also out for about a day. Thankfully, he didn’t miss any action during the game, but he missed a training session and it was decisive game time for the Demons on Wednesday.
I don’t even know how to explain the discomfort I get when watching the clip below. I’m praying that Klefbom wore a trophy in this match, it seems unlikely that all NHLers did so. I’m not surprised at all that something like this makes Klefbom vibrate and I really hope he recovers as best he can. Oh my God.

Jujhar Khaira is the last player to return from injury this past week. Again, he didn’t miss any matches, but he missed training on March 12, which raises some questions about whether his heel injury is still an uncomfortable issue for him. You may be starting to notice more and more guys taking part in maintenance at this time of the season.
It’s been ~70 games and persistent injuries are starting to hit the boys sooner or later. The NHL’s schedule is a grueling long process and I’m always working hard to find out how many injuries some players have experienced at the end of each season. Jesse Puljujarvi
Jesse Puljujarvi is the only real player on injured reserve for the Oilers at the moment. As you know, he had hip surgery a few weeks ago and was fully involved in the detoxification process. He always seems to be smiling and is expected to make a full recovery and attend training camp next fall. I hope he’s enjoying his time of rest and relaxation!
